Gerade wurde die erste öffentliche Beta von XySubFilter veröffentlicht. Es basiert auf dem bereits bekannten (xy-)vsfilter, rendert aber nicht direkt auf dem Video (in einer DirectShow-Kette also zwischen Video-Decoder und Video-Renderer), sondern in Bildschirmauflösung und sitzt zwischen Splitter und Renderer. Damit können Untertitel direkt in der Zielauflösung gerendert werden (ohne Chroma-Subsampling) und sehen deshalb auch bei kleinen Videoauflösungen scharf aus. Außerdem ist es mit DXVA2 (nativ) kompatibel. Genutzt wird dazu die neue Untertitelschnittstelle von madVR. Es arbeitet also recht ähnlich zum bekannten internen MPC-HC-Untertitel-Filter (mit welchem er ja auch verwandt ist), ist aber insbesondere bei ASS-Untertiteln deutlich schneller und fehlerfreier und wird auch relativ aktiv entwickelt. Möglicherweise wird - wie bereits mit LAV - früher oder später die ganze Chose in MPC-HC integriert, um den alten Filter und die alte Schnittstelle zu ersetzen.
