VLC 1.0.1 öffnet MPEG-4 falsch

Ein MPEG-4 AVC Film mit 720x544 wird von folgenden Programmen geöffnet:

Nero ShowTime mit Bildausgabe 720x375
(sieht einfach schön scharf aus, weil er sich an den 720 orientiert)

VLC 1.0.1 mit Bildausgabe 1049x544
(sieht einfach unschön und zu weich aus, weil er sich an den 544 orientiert)

Warum bläst VLC dieses Video so ungünstig auf und ShowTime zeigt es so, wie es aus meiner Sicht zu zeigen ist.

Nur wieso um Himmels Willen will VLC ein Video mit einer Breite von 720 auf 1049 aufblasen und sagt dann, es seinen 100%, als Ansicht 1:1?

Das sieht echt bescheuert aus und es muss doch eine Möglichkeit geben, welche den größten Wert nimmt und das AR entsprechend runterrechnet und nicht hinauf! Oder bin ich da zu dumm um es zu verstehen was da passiert?

Unter anderem: Wenn das Video interlaced wäre, dann würde eine Veränderung der Höhe zu äußerst unschönen Balken im Bild führen.

Das Video ist progressiv, schon von der Quelle weg, aber es stimmt schon...das wäre im anderen Fall sehr unschön...

Vielleicht kann es mir einfachen Menschen wer erklären, warum das so ist...das entspricht für mich keiner Logik wenn ich ein Video mit einer Breite von 720 ohne Eingreifen des Users auf 1049 aufblase...

Showtime nimmt die 720 und zeigt ein schönes, knackscharfes Bild...
VLC ignoriert das und nimmt die Höhe von 544 und rechnet die Breite hoch...

Ich will keine Hochrechnungen, sondern nackte Fakten...
Vollbildmodus und Vergrößerungen kann ich immer noch selber steuern...

Hat hier wer eine Lösung?
Es gibt in den erweiterten Einstellungen die Option "Video vergrößern"!
Dieser Wert ist Standard auf "1"...
Legt man ihn z.B. auf "0,7" dann wird es im Falle der MPEG-4 schön und richtig, nur dann sind alle anderen Formate daneben, weil sie eben nicht mehr in 100% sind, sondern in 70%...

Ich will doch nur weg von diesen unsinnigen Nero Produkten und es muss doch einen Player geben, der fast alles abspielen kann und Farbe/Kontrast, als auch vor allem die Videogröße richtig abspielt...

Habe den SadoMaso Player gestern noch versucht. Sieht schön aus, aber hängt sich schon beim Wechseln der Audiospur auf. Er öffnet das Video aber in den gleichen für mich unverständlichen Proportionen und bläst es auch auf...

Erkennst du, warum das so ist mit dem Aufblasen des Videos?

Ruf mal in der Contsole mediainfo mit --Full auf, da der interessante Wert - das Pixel Aspekt Ratio (PAR) - hier nicht angezeigt wird. Ist der PAR nicht 1.0 bzw. 1:1 erhält der Player das Signal das Material beim Playback zu 'entzerren'.

Breite : 720 Pixel
Höhe : 568 Pixel <== das erste hatte noch 544 Zeilen?
Bildseitenverhältnis : 16:9 <== anamorph encodiert, muss beim Abspielen entzerrt werden

Player, die über ITU-R BT.601 rechnen, bilden ein Verhältnis aus typischen Stauchungsfaktoren und ziehen dann das Bild dementsprechend in der Breite auseinander, so wie ein Breitbildfernseher das tun würde.

Ein Röhren-Fernseher arbeitet zeilenorientiert. Der Elektronenstrahl hat ein auf Mikrosekunden gesteuertes Timing, das in Jahrzehnte alten Standards definiert ist. Software-Player, die sich daran orientieren, werden immer eher die Breite auseinanderziehen als die Höhe stauchen. Schließlich führt ein Verkleinern ja immer zu stärkeren Detailverlusten.

Das Vergrößern mag bei nur bilinearer Filterung vielleicht weicher aussehen, aber zumindest bleibt jede Zeile für sich erhalten. Und manche Player lassen ja auch eine andere Interpolation zu als nur bilinear, je nach Renderer. VMR9 beispielsweise nutzt die 3D-Beschleuniger-Funktionen, da ist mit Pixelshadern auch schärferes möglich (z.B. bikubisch).

Darf ich dich blöd fragen, wie du genau MediaInfo startest und wie du zu dieser Ausgabe kommst?

Ich nutze i.d.R. die Konsolen Version von mediainfo, öffne eine Konsole unter Windows gehe in das MediaInfoverzeichnis und rufe z.B.:

auf, bin aber bis dato davon ausgegangen, dass auch die GUI einem die vollen Informationen zur Verfügung stellt.

Hmm,.. Du könntest mal die Konsolen Version bei MediaInfo runterladen und es mit der versuchen, ansonsten weiß vielleicht wer anders wie man die MediaInfo Gui dazu bekommt den PAR-Wert anzuzeigen,..

Leider haben die (CLI-) Konsolen-Version und die (GUI-) Windows-Version den gleichen Namen für die EXE-Datei. Um beide Versionen in einem Verzeichnis zu haben, benenne ich die CLI-Version deshalb meist in "MediaInfoCLI.exe" um, bevor ich die GUI-Version installiere. Aber die EXE scheint sich ohnehin kaum zu ändern, sie ist nur ein Frontend für die jeweils aktuelle DLL.

Pittiplatsch

Wenn man im Menue Debug > complete den Hacken hin macht und auf die Textansicht wechselt,
dürfte das die gewünschten Infos anzeigen.

Wenn Du die Files wechselst ist es nicht gerade einfach zu helfen,...

Ausgehend von 720x568 haben Player zwei Möglichkeiten mit 'Pixel aspect ratio : 1.459' umzugehen: Sie passen entweder die Höhe oder die Breite an, also entweder Breite*PAR (720*1,459 = 1050,48) oder Höhe/PAR (568/1,459 = 389,31), sie könnten also entweder eine Zielauflösung von 1050x568 oder 720x389 wählen um das Material richtig zu entzerren.

Sinniger ist es eigentlich die Breite zu erhöhen, da beim Erstellen des Materials diese gestaucht wurde. (PAR > 1)

Das das Bild beim VLC schlechter aussieht liegt vermutlich am Resizer oder dem Videorenderer den der VLC benutzt.

Da ich den VLC nicht verwende hab ich ihn eben mal runtergeladen und unter:
Extras->Einstellungen kann man auch die Video Einstellungen ändern.
Würde spontan:
1. unterschiedliche Ausgabe Einstellungen testen
2. (wenn man sich alle Einstellungen anzeigen lässt) bei den Allgemeinen Videoeinstellungen vielleicht mal gucken was passiert, wenn man bei den Fenstereigentschaften eine bestimmte Videobreite (720) vorgibt. Vielleicht hilft es auch etwas wenn man sich die Video->Filter in den Einstellungen mal genauer anguckt. Aber da sollte jemand helfen, der den VLC auch nutzt.
